Meet The Team
Nick Gallogly – Consultant Orthotist
Based in Reading, Berkshire and London, Nick is a specialist in biomechanics with a focus in gait analysis and the management of neural muscular lower limb conditions.
His main interest in research focuses on identification and management in tibialis posterior tendon dysfunction. This focus has led to primary care innovations as well as developed pathways for management of the condition. Nick is interested in working in lower limb orthotic management, conservative orthotic management of neurological conditions as well as sports injury prevention.
As a foot and ankle specialist, he has had the pleasure of working with a wide number of sports teams including the GB rowing team, London Irish rugby, para-rowing teams, Bristol rugby, Gloucester Rugby, Bath Rugby, Reading FC Academy and Connacht Rugby. Nick has also worked as a medical classifier for GB Para Rowing.
Mr Declan Oldfield BSc – Senior Specialist Orthotist
Declan is an experienced specialist orthotist who has been working with Nick at the Royal Berkshire Hospital for 8years. He attained his BSc in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Salford University in 2015.
Declan is an integrale part of the practice, with skills in 3-D scanning and 3-D printing. His reputation as a caring and attentive clinician continues to be recognised by those around him. He works within MDT`s in both diabetic and neuromuscular settings and has a keen interest in foot and ankle and paediatrics.
Ms Jourja Pattrik BSc – Orthotist
Jourja joined the practice in early 2024. She qualified as an Orthotist in 2022 and has her university placement with Nick in 2021.
Jourja`s role within the team is as the patient experience lead, focusing her time on ensuring that patients continue to do well after their treatment, ensuring good patient outcomes. She is currently undertaking an PGc in the management of the diabetic foot.
Mr Ashley Butler – PA
Ashley joined the practice in 2023. He supports the team with appointment, accounts and general enquires.

Nick Gallogly, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust’s Clinical Lead for Department of Orthotics has been appointed as a Consultant Orthotist – the second person in the UK and Ireland to be in such a post.
